Château des Milandes -
The Castle was built in 1489 per François de Caumont Seigneur of Castelnaud on the initiative of his wife Claude de Cardaillac. A garden made up of several levels will be traced. Charles Claverie, in 1908, called upon the landscape gardener Jules Vacherot to redraw and replant the park. Privileged site, the castle of Milandes accomodates many raptors: tubes, falcons, owls, owls fly over each day the garden for a spectacle of fauconnery in front of the castle.
For the greatest pleasure of the visitors, our two falconers present hunting for the flight and the various species to you living with the castle. What fauconnery? It is before a whole art, that of a whole life; the term of fauconnery has several significances: it acts of the birdcage intended for the birds of flight.
It is a question of art of drawing up or of controlling the birds top or low flight; and finally it is also the place in which the falconer looks after his birds, their food prepares, all that forms part of the crew of the birds. Joséphine Baker was at the origin of the rebirth of Milandes. She was the owner of the castle and she brought a great number of improvements as electricty to the village as well.
