The house of Paul Goerg invites you to discover the secrets of how a great champagne is made, in a process where the most modern techniques are allied with all the traditional skills of the winemaker. The son of a broker for the big champagne houses and a broker himself, Paul Goerg was born in Vertus at the beginning of the 19th century. |
|
Following in the footsteps of his father, little Paul learned at a young age how to recognise the best grapes which would enable a great champagne to be made. Strongly attached to his home region, the Côte des Blancs, and to the vineyards of Vertus, classed as Premier Cru, he shared his knowledge and passion for champagne with the winegrowers of the town. |

At Paul Goerg, as elsewhere in the Champagne, the grape picking is done by hand. The harvest begins in late September to early October, the exact date being fixed by order of the prefecture. The date may vary for different areas and different grape varieties. Commentaire des Aventuriers : here is the perfect address to buy your Champagne.
